Apple smartwatch to be used for health reasons too!

A new product is coming!

apple watch
Apple’s smartwatch can be used for health and fitness tracking, although now it would appear that the company has a new health product in the works.
The news of the new health product from the company was revealed by Apple CEO, Tim Cook in an interview with The Telegraph.
“We don’t want to put the watch through the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) process. I wouldn’t mind putting something adjacent to the watch through it, but not the watch, because it would hold us back from innovating too much, the cycles are too long. But you can begin to envision other things that might be adjacent to it — maybe an app, maybe something else.”
Exactly what Apple is working on remains to be seen, but it could be an add on device for the Apple Watch, this would allow the company to just have the device passed through the FDA and not the Apple Watch, as soon as we get some more information, we will let you guys know.

MSI SteelSeries V2 DRAGON EDITION!

Make no mistake...this isn't an ORDANARY SteelSeries V2 Headset....this is the LIMITED EDITION ....MSI DRAGON EDITION one!!

So what's the main difference between the 2? ...well technology wise...nothing...but exclusivity wise....EVERYTHING!

The MSI version of this award winning headset brings a new level of COOL to this product. The headphones are one of the most successful selling headphones available in the world!

These are ONLY available when you are one of the lucky ones who purchases an MSI GAMING Notebook.....which is ME :)

It compliments my MSI GS60 Gold beautifully!

So let's get back to the quality of the product...how it does it's job because that's important too right?...

AUDIO

The headset uses 2.1 sound; this makes it perfect for playing music through and for communication over Skype or other VOIP software. The sound is crystal clear which allows for no misheard words or sounds when playing games or speaking to people through Skype. The sound quality makes it perfect for games and while not being 7.1 virtual surround sound it still is great for all game types. Also the audio jack is a standard input you could also use on your iPod it has no need for power via USB and therefore is perfect to use on long journeys or sessions.

EAR PADS
The ear pads are big enough to fully cover your ears. The pads also use special sound dampening foam. This means any noise outside of the pads is kept outside. The fact there is no external sound going into the headset means you don’t have to hear other things such as barking dogs or annoying neighbours. The pads are also roughly 2 inches thick and really cushion your head and you can almost forget you are using the headset, which allows you to fully focus on either your game or work for example.

 WIRES & CONNECTIONS
The separate wires that come with the headset are a set of extensions to the original wire that is attached to the headset. This means that you can either have a short or long wire for the headset depending on proximity of use from the PC. If you have to get up and walk around then the extra length will be handy where as if you are sitting close to the pc you may want to save the untidiness. I personally think this gives everyone more options and keeps everybody accommodated. The fact the wire attached to the headset is short is perfect for when you want to use it with your iPod or other MP3 device as you do not have to drag around a long wire. The cable also has a microphone ON/OFF button and volume control.

MICROPHONE
The microphone is fully retractable, this allows you to be able to use the headset whilst drinking or eating. Simply push it into the headset when you don’t want to use it and forget about it. When you need to use the microphone again you simply pull it out nothing special or complicated.
The microphone has many more tricks up its sleeve. It is uni-directional so it seeks to block other noise. This means it tries to focus on your voice and make it louder than anything in the background. So when you are on Skype people don’t have to hear background noise such as other people in the room or barking dogs for example.

PACKAGING

CONCLUSION

I must say I originally expected the build quality to be utterly shabby as it looks like simply low-end plastic. However I think this was an intentional build design to keep the lightweight headset from being a burden for long time users. The audio sound is crisp and clear the microphone is easy to hear as well as being able to be pushed out of your way when it is not needed. The headset may not be the best in the field but overall it is one of the best contenders in its price range and is adequate for anyone wanting to use it for Skype, listen to music or play games. Overall I strongly recommend this headset....but the fact this is MSI branded with the DRAGON on it...makes it an absolute MUST! Makes buying the NB completely worth it...because you are PART of a brand and club...not just a sheep :)

The Outer Box & Packaging

The GT80 Titan comes in a very sturdy outer carton.  All of the key features such as Cherry Mechanical Keyboard, Xsplit GameCaster, SteelSeries engine,  Speakers by Dynaudio are written on the outside.

The Laptop & Features

The Track pad is also a new feature that allows to have a full size number pad.  It can also be used as a more traditional track pad for navigating around the screen.

This is very easy to switch between using the button in the top left hand side of the num/key pad.

One of the stand out features of the GT80 is the SteelSeries Mechanical Keyboard.
The GT80 offers a world first for a Gaming Notebook to feature, a full sized backlit mechanical keyboard with Cherry MX Brown Switches.

The most popular type of tactile, non-clicky switch is the Cherry MX Brown. This switch was introduced in 1994 as a special ‘ergo soft’ switch, but quickly became one of the most popular switches. Today, the majority of mech keyboards are sold with Brown switches, as the switch is considered the best option for FPS and for RTS games.

The GT80 comes with a very bright single color RED backlit keyboard.

Around the GT80 Titan

The MSI GT80 is an ideal desktop replacement for any serious gamer.  Whilst some of the stand out features are the SLI technology with MXM Graphics module, it goes without saying that you can maximise your gaming experience or work experience with the GT80.   It’s much thinner and quieter than you would expect from such a powerful machine.  From the back you can see 2 x Mini Display Port and 1x HDMI.  this will allow for upto three external screens, ideal for Nvidia Surround.

The full input/outputs of the GT80 Titan are :

5 x USB3.0 ports for fast data transfer of files and keep you connected to all of your favorite peripherals.

Independent amps for both on board sound and for the headset.

The GT80 also includes a SPDIF/Soptical Out.

Speaker wise...the GT80 does not disappoint! 4+1 sub! WOW :)

Upgradability & opening up the GT80 Titan

Top cover is easily removed by 2 screws

Everything is easily accessible!

1 x 2.5" Storage

4 x SSD's and 4 memory slots

Dynaudio speakers x 4 + 1 Sub on the bottom

With a more traditional laptop, a lot of the key components are underneath the keyboard.  The GT80 puts these in front of the keyboard to allow for a more modular design and to accomodate the SteelSeries Mechanical Keyboard

Everything is accessible through the top panel. Memory/SSD/HD!

Very easy access!

The GPU's are MXM, so are upgradable for up to 2 generations.

New Toy! MSI PANOCAM - Wifi - enabled 360degree camera :)

Hi all!

So I received my new toy over the weekend...

The MSI Panocam!

What is it I hear you ask?

"The PANOCAM is an advanced wireless video camera with a fisheye lens.
It enables you to always keep track of the things you care about, with its superior image quality."

What is my interest in this?

Well, as I shall be getting a pet shortly & I heard that MSI now have something that means, I can keep a watchful eye & ear on my little loved one, I thought PERFECT.

I'm sure all you pet owners probably think the same as me right? Is my cat/dog OK when I go to work? Well...now we will know, and all through the magic of wifi and internet!

Packaging & Unboxing

The MSI Panocam comes in a very small compact box, which is cool. No excess packaging, no excess manuals (we will see how easy it is to install as usually I love manuals to help me set up).

Contents laid out - so what's in the box?

Pancocam Stand

Panocam Power Supply

Panocam wall mount

Panocam quick start guide

& of course...the Panocam :)

360 dome camera view

Size & feel

As with all new toys I get, I always want them to feel & look like QUALITY. You can buy very cheap cameras on the internet today that claim to do good things, but when they arrive, they feel like they have been made in someone's bedroom!

The size of this unit is SMALL. It's approx 10CM in height. It weighs 215g which is just enough for it to feel of substance. It's finish is in silver and feels really good! Does not look or feel cheap at all, which is something I would expect from a company like MSI.

The Panocam comes with a built it microphone & speaker to provide 2 way communication. This means I can SPEAK TO MY PET whilst at work! (ok maybe it's just more so I can hear he/she is OK rather than speak to it).

It also comes with an Micro SD slot so it can record and provide extra storage upto 32GB. MSI have thought of everything it seems!

Worried about the length of cable that it comes with?...

Don't be...it's HUGE. Enough for it to be mounted almost anywhere and have access to a power point.

Setting up the Panocam

With not much of an instruction manual...I thought this may be a pain...but it really wasn't.

I have an iphone 5s, so I searched for SomeThings (as stated on the set up guide) and around 4 apps down, I found it. Downloaded and installed within 30 seconds. (also available on Google Play/Android)

It then provides you with step by step instructions...honestly...it's so easy and clear.

Once set up the app looks like this :

I logged in with my Facebook details to save time...which I would recommend. This day and age, most things can be logged in with FB.

and then...the main menu appears :

Click on "Products" & then the "+" sign to pair the camera and sync it all upto the phone and Wi-Fi

Seriously...this could not be easier. It literally guides you through all of it on the app.

Finally you should see the app showing the camera connected :

and a BLUE light on the Panocam

And DONE!!

Now it's time to test this little beauty!

Straight away, I could hear all sounds and the video was clear! So cool. The quality was amazing, with only around a 1s delay on the feed (which I think is amazing).

Here are some pics of me testing it out

Pic1
Pic2

Yes..my head DOES look that odd in real life!

Because of it's 360 degree rotation, you can actually use the app itself to spin the camera around meaning you can place the Panocam at any angle when it's location (example Pic1 & 2 was done on software only and not by physically moving the Panocam).

And now for the money shot...

How cool is that? Literally grabs video of my WHOLE room and let's me watch it wherever I want. It captured from floor to ceiling & wall to wall. Awesome. If I fix this on my wall, I can constantly keep an eye and record for any purpose. Suspect your GF of stealing? Get a Panocam! Want to keep an eye on your pets? Get a Panocam! Want to admire how nice your living room is 24/7 whilst away with work? Get a Panocam! The uses are endless. It's just a really cool device that enables you to be home...when you are not.

Conclusion

When I saw this product online, I really wanted to get my hands on it. I wanted to test it out for myself. I wanted this product to be EASY to set up, and have a quality video feed. The MSI Panocam passed the test on both.

10m to set up, and I was taking videos in great quality. With the App being so easy to use, you can take screen shots directly to your phone, or rotate the image on the Panocam.

Would I reccommend? Yes. . . because if you are looking for something to do EXACTLY what it says it's going to do...then this is it!

Ease of use & overall quality is excellent.

Now my only dilemma is...which pet do I buy to keep an eye on?...

Something tells me I will need the Panocam for something like this ..
